We always wanted to write an album called "Sincerely Yours, The Breakfast Cub" because, well, it's a great album title and we enjoyed the play on words. We had a few songs for it, but as we got busy with other projects and Covid and me moving an ocean away, we never finished it. Not to say we never would've; Bearcub was always on hiatus rather than disbanded, so I'm sure we would've come back to it.

"Screws Fall Out All The Time, The World Is An Imperfect Place" is, to the best of my knowledge, one of the last demos we recorded that's worth releasing for anyone to listen to. It was recorded and mixed by Daniel in his basement studio in 2018, and I'd honestly forgotten about it. It was in the aftermath of Daniel's death in August 2022 that I rediscovered it and remembered we used it in an episode of Spacemerica! (in Season 1 Episode 7 of our sci-fi space epic podcast via Calamity Cast). The title is taken from a line in "The Breakfast Club," spoken by Judd Nelson.

"Epilogue (Lofi Screws)" is a chill-vibe-electronica-whatevers expansion of the ending melody from "Screws" which I wrote last year after Daniel died. I think he would've liked it.

As we sift through old recordings, any that are decent enough will get uploaded here, and they'll all be free. But right now that's a taller order than we'd like on account of various software/licensing/computer issues. Hopefully we get them uploaded sooner rather than later.

Daniel should still be here, the lovable curmudgeon he was, but he's not and there's no rhyme or reason for it other than the fact that world really is an imperfect place. And even though he never cared much for celebrating it, it just seemed fitting to release these on his birthday.

Thanks to everyone who came to shows, bought our albums and merch, danced (as much as anyone could to our music) and braved the cacophony of sound that was Bearcub.
